Riders to keep an eye on this weekend

Simon Gegenheimer (GER) & Jeroen van Eck (NED)

Last year’s overall World Cup winner, Simon Gegenheimer a.k.a. ‘Mustache Simon’ eyes the finals in Congonhas: “I’ve been a few times in Brazil for MTB, but this one is quite unique in terms of places to ride. It’s great to see how the XCE discipline got bigger over the past years. There could be a worse way to finish my season.”

Dutch champion Jeroen van Eck: I’m very happy about my performances of 2018. This season I wanted to finish each World Cup round within the top 4. I managed to make it 5 out of 6 times. Pulling on that final leader’s jersey on the podium in Congonhas is an achievement I would love to get. I can’t wait to visit Brazil for the first time.”
