City Mountainbike is thrilled to announce some great news: in cooperation with Sakarya Bike and the European cycling federation UEC, we’ll be setting up the 2023 European Mountain Bike Eliminator Championships in Sakarya, Türkiye. Yes, you’ve read that right: 2023!
City Mountainbike CEO Kristof Bruyneel: “Our cooperation with UEC was due to start in 2024, but after very constructive meetings, I’m excited to begin it with immediate effect. Thanks to that, we managed to secure the organisation of the 2023 European championships. I can’t wait to return to Sakarya, a city that has proven itself as a successful host of a 2022 and 2023 UCI World Cup round.”
The 2023 European Championships will take place on Sunday, October 29. Contrary to the UCI World Cup opener in Sakarya earlier this year, racing will not happen in the Ayçiçeği Bisiklet Vadisi bike stadium, but on a true city track, downtown in Sakarya.
